Camille Paglia is an American feminist academic and social critic. Paglia has been a professor at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, since 1984.Acknowledged as a leading social critic and educator, Paglia came to prominence in 1990 after publishing the highly acclaimed book Sexual Personae. Her other works include Sex, Art, and American Culture, Vamps and Tramps,* which dealt with such celebrities as Bill and Hillary Clinton, and other collections.In 2005, Paglia was named as one of the top 100 public intellectuals by the journals Foreign Policy and Prospect. She is also a critic of contemporary American feminism and of post-structuralism, as well as a commentator on multiple aspects of American culture such as its visual art, music, and film history.Her latest book on poetry, Break, Blow, Burn, has also met with critical and commercial success.
