McShane is a research fellow in education policy studies at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), where he studies and writes about K–12 education policy, including private and religious schools and the politics of education. He was previously a high school teacher.McShane’s analyses and commentary have been published widely in the media, including in the Huffington Post, National Affairs, USA Today, and The Washington Post. He has also been featured in education-specific outlets such as Teachers College Commentary, Education Week, Phi Delta Kappan, and Education Next.
