A Silicon Valley investor for over 35 years, Roger McNamee is a tech venture capitalist with several successful ventures to his name. An early mentor to Mark Zuckerberg and an investor in Facebook, McNamee’s experience with the company is detailed in his book, Zucked: Waking Up to the Facebook Catastrophe. Through his writing, McNamee hopes to raise consciousness about responsible practices that he believes tech companies should adopt as the Internet landscape continues to change.In recent months, McNamee has spoken publicly about the dangers of Facebook on platforms such as NPR, The New York Times, The Guardian, and more. Rowe Price Associates in 1982, and in 1991, he launched Integral Capital Partners – the first crossover fund – in partnership with Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Morgan Stanley & Co. McNamee later co-founded Silver Lake Partners, the first private equity fund focused on technology businesses, in 1999. Along with his other books, McNamee also plays bass and guitar in the bands Moonalice and Doobie Decibel System.
