Shana Knizhnik is the co-author of Notorious RBG. Currently a judicial law clerk on Third Circuit Court of Appeals, Knizhnik created the uber popular Notorious RBG Tumblr in 2013 following RBG’s dissent after part of the Voting Right’s Act was struck down. In October, HarperCollins published the now-New York Times best-selling “Notorious RBG” book, co-written with MSNBC’s Irin Carmon.Shana was the 2016–2018 ACLU Dunn Fellow. Although she worked on all ACLU-DC issue areas as part of her fellowship, her primary concentrations were criminal justice reform, due process, and public employee speech rights.After graduating cum laude from New York University School of Law in 2015, Shana clerked for Federal Court of Appeals Judge Dolores Sloviter on the Third Circuit. At NYU, she was an Articles Editor for the New York University Law Review and served on the boards of OUTLaw and the Coalition on Law and Representation (CoLR). She has interned at the ACLU Criminal Law Reform Project, the Public Defender Service for D.C. and the Legal Aid Society’s Juvenile Rights Practice in the Bronx.
