Uché Blackstock, MD, is a Board-certified Emergency Medicine physician. She is passionate about equity and justice in healthcare and society. As a child, she watched mher mother, Dr. Dale Blackstock, a Black woman in medicine, navigate the world with the odds squarely stacked against her. Raised by a single mother with six children, on public assistance, her mother was the first person in her family to attend college. She died at only 47 years old. Her mother was her role model and the reason why she became a physician.Over the last ten years of clinical practice, Dr. Blackstock has witnessed first-hand the deleterious impact of health inequity and healthcare disparities on our marginalized populations and communities. Her mother’s legacy inspires her to use her voice to advance health equity for her patients and to address the detrimental effects of structural racism on health outcomes.Ultimately, Dr. Blackstock created Advancing Health Equity with the goal of partnering with healthcare organizations to address a few of the critical factors that contribute to health inequity, through speaking engagements, workshops, and consulting services.Contact a speaker booking agent to check availability on Uché Blackstock and other top speakers and celebrities.
