Dr. Victor Thompson is a widely published scholar and recipient of the 2009 C.B. Moore award for excellence in southeastern archaeology by an early career scholar. Dr. Thompson holds an assistant professor of archaeology position at the Ohio State University.His research interests include the archaeology of islands and coasts, archaeological survey, shallow geophysics, historical ecology, hunter-gatherers, ritual, and monumentality. He has been involved in field- and museum-based work in Mexico, the Caribbean, the Midwest, and the Southeast, especially in Veracruz, Kentucky, Georgia, and Florida.
